Financial comparisons become easier when the formula is transparent. NPS Calculator turns the displayed inputs into a repeatable estimate that you can recalculate as rates, prices, or other assumptions change. On this page, it calculates Net Promoter Score from response counts for scores 0 through 10.
What this calculator does
NPS Calculator calculates Net Promoter Score from response counts for scores 0 through 10. Its visible inputs are Score 10 responses, Score 9 responses, Score 8 responses, Score 7 responses, Score 6 responses, Score 5 responses, Score 4 responses, Score 3 responses, Score 2 responses, Score 1 responses, Score 0 responses. The article follows those fields and the calculation that is actually available on this page; it does not silently add live market feeds, tax tables, legal eligibility tests, or other variables that are not present in the tool.
How to use it
Enter Score 10 responses, Score 9 responses, Score 8 responses, Score 7 responses, Score 6 responses, Score 5 responses, and the remaining displayed fields. Use the units and percentage scale shown beside each field, and keep values on the same time basis when the formula compares income, rates, prices, balances, or work hours.
How the calculation works
Promoters are scores 9–10, detractors are 0–6, and passives are 7–8. NPS = percentage promoters − percentage detractors.
Example
Using the page’s demonstration values (Score 10 responses = 10; Score 9 responses = 10; Score 8 responses = 5; Score 7 responses = 5) and leaving the remaining defaults unchanged, the calculator returns -23.08 for net promoter score (nps). Replace the sample inputs with values from the same period and definition before interpreting your own result.
How to interpret the result
Interpret the output according to the metric being calculated: a ratio, score, exchange relationship, chart level, safety incidence rate, or cost comparison. It is best for consistent measurement and scenario comparison, not for turning one metric into a complete business or investment decision. The possible range is −100 to +100; movement is most useful when the survey method and customer population stay consistent.
Limitations and notes
NPS benchmarks vary by organization and survey design. The score summarizes advocacy responses but does not explain why customers chose those ratings. This tool uses the data you enter and does not independently validate the underlying source, legal classification, market quote, accounting treatment, or workplace recordability decision. A clean calculation can still be wrong if the source data or definition is wrong.
