How the calculation works

Known-preferences mode calculates beer from beer drinkers × hours, applies fixed bottle/serving assumptions to wine and liquor, and estimates soft drinks as soft-drink guests × (hours + 1). General mode estimates total drinks then allocates 40% beer and splits the remainder between wine and liquor.

Example
