Zakat Calculator turns the values on the form into a focused planning estimate. It estimates zakat from the entered cash, gold, silver, and business or investment assets after subtracting short-term liabilities and comparing net zakatable wealth with the entered nisab threshold and keeps the arithmetic visible enough to sanity-check.
What this calculator does
Zakat Calculator estimates zakat from the entered cash, gold, silver, and business or investment assets after subtracting short-term liabilities and comparing net zakatable wealth with the entered nisab threshold. The form asks for cash and bank balance, gold value, silver value, business/investment assets, short-term liabilities, nisab threshold value, and zakat rate. The result should therefore be read as a calculation from those displayed assumptions, not as live market, lender, tax, or government-program data unless the page explicitly supplies such a feed.
How to use it
Enter Cash and bank balance, Gold value, Silver value, Business/investment assets, Short-term liabilities, Nisab threshold value, and Zakat rate. Keep monetary inputs in one currency; the currency selector formats results and does not convert exchange rates. Enter rates and percentages on the scale shown by the field label; do not silently switch between a decimal and a percent. Keep time values in the period shown on the form so a monthly figure is not accidentally entered as an annual one or vice versa. Before calculating, recheck Cash and bank balance, Gold value, Silver value against the source values you intend to model. If a default value is already filled in, confirm that it matches the scenario you actually want to test rather than assuming the preset is current or personally appropriate.
How the calculation works
Net zakatable wealth = cash + gold value + silver value + business/investment assets − short-term liabilities. If that amount is at least the entered nisab threshold, estimated zakat = net zakatable wealth × entered zakat rate; otherwise the calculator returns zero. This is the calculation method to use when checking the result from Zakat Calculator; values not represented by a visible input should not be inferred as part of the model.
Example
With $10,000 cash, no other zakatable assets or short-term liabilities, a $6,000 entered nisab, and a 2.5% rate, the calculator treats $10,000 as net zakatable wealth and estimates $250 of zakat.
How to interpret the result
The result is the amount produced by the assets, liabilities, nisab, and rate you entered. A change in metal values or liability treatment can move the result above or below the threshold. Keep the assumptions with the result so a later recalculation can be compared consistently.
Limitations and notes
Zakat treatment can vary by asset type, ownership, debt treatment, haul requirements, nisab method, and scholarly opinion. This calculator is arithmetic support, not a religious ruling; use the method appropriate to your circumstances. Rounding and timing conventions can cause a real statement or account balance to differ slightly from the model.
